We believe art should be a part of everyone’s lives, and that knowing and appreciating art should be the standard rather than a luxury. The Art Village will bring together different educational institutions which have similar values and are willing to share their vision for the benefit of the larger public. The main facility of the Art Village will resemble an Art center. Students from different colleges will have the opportunity to spend a few days in the center, to create art and exchange ideas. The facility will also be open to the public, so that Provincetown residents and visitors can take art classes taught by university professors, artists and students.
Our Mission
We wish to support and encourage the development and understanding of art in Provincetown, in order to enhance the quality of life for both locals and tourists, stimulate economic growth and educational advancement and fuel public interest by re-emphasizing the town's artistic heritage.
Our Goals
- To develop an art colony in Provincetown, based on the town's tradition as one of the major artistic centers in the USA.
- To build an Artists’ Village in the Heart of Provincetown where young or already established artists could learn or share their knowledge, as well as freely express themselves.
- To purchase land, design and build a facility where visual artists, musicians, filmmakers, and others could feel encouraged to produce and promote their art. The location we have picked already has a long cultural and historical heritage, thus being the perfect place for such an establishment.
- To provide affordable housing for students and artists who are going to work and create in the colony.
- To host artistic events for the public.
